Your Guide to Therapy at Lily Pad Mental Health

  • I provide individual therapy for children, adolescents, and teens. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and can provide assessments for anxiety disorders as well as ADHD assessments (with a written report).

  • I offer a free 15-minute consultation that can be conducted either by telephone, video call, or in person at my office. This is to answer any questions you may have and see if you feel like this is a good fit before moving forward. We will also make sure all consent forms are signed before the next appointment. The following appointment would be the intake where we discuss more about history, presenting concerns, and goals for therapy. From there we would schedule regular follow-up appointments for individual therapy.

  • Therapy sessions will start weekly (if your schedule allows) and as we see improvements and progress toward goals for therapy, we will decrease the frequency of sessions (every other week, every few weeks, once a month). If more concerns present after session frequency has decreased, we can go back to having sessions more often. Frequency will be based on what is needed at that time, with the goal of decreasing frequency before ending therapy.

  • Each individual therapy session lasts about 50-55 minutes.

  • For the initial consultation and diagnostic assessment, you will be in the room with your child. For the diagnostic assessment, it is up to you and your child whether you want to speak together the whole time or if either of you would feel more comfortable speaking with myself one-on-one. With individual therapy in general, the majority of sessions are conducted between the client and therapist. Working with children, we do have the option of doing parent sessions as well. These might be conducted between myself and the parent(s)/guardian(s) or they might include the child in the session as well.

  • Individual therapy has one individual as the client (in this case, your child). In family therapy, the "client" is the family as a whole and multiple family members are involved in order to work towards the goals for the family. The reason we can do parent sessions in individual therapy is because we would still be working towards the same treatment goals for the child.

  • At Lily Pad Mental Health LLC, I use a private pay model. As I am not paneled with insurance companies, I would be considered an out-of-network provider.

Depending on your insurance plan, it’s possible that they may reimburse you for a portion of what you pay out-of-pocket. I also accept HSA and FSA cards for payment as well as most major credit cards.

I have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use the tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.

  • Life happens. Like most offices, I ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment. If you have to cancel please let me know as soon as possible. You can either contact me through my work email or work cell. My late-cancel/no show fee is $50.

  • YES – I do currently have after-school availability. My earliest appointments are 9:00AM and my latest appointments are 5:30PM. Since I work with children and adolescents, my later appointments tend to fill up the fastest. When those spots are full, I do my best to offer an appointment time that is least intrusive for school (ex. child goes to school late, leaves school early, comes to therapy during lunch/recess time, comes to therapy during classes that are not core academics, etc.). This tends to be temporary because when a later appointment becomes available, it is first offered to clients who are coming during the day. I do offer a reduced appointment fee for appointments that are during the school day.

  • Call or email today and we will set up a free 15-minute consultation to answer any questions you may have and see if it seems like a good fit before moving forward.

  • My license does not allow me to prescribe medication. If you are interested in exploring medication as an option for treatment, I can offer a recommendation to a psychiatrist in the area or you can speak with your child’s pediatrician.
